Excellent Timing…

18th June 2018 | Emily's Blog, Next - Arndale Centre News

Yesterday I planned to do a post wishing everyone a happy Father's day and to say that I hoped all those lucky Daddy's loved their fabulous pottery that has been created in the studios. I'd not had chance to preplan a post as last week was just crazy busy trying to pack up Prestwich, so my plan was to post yesterday...

Saturday night I had a well deserved night out with my Uni friends and Paul, after a few drinks we headed over to a restaurant for a bite to eat, only I didn't see the kerb and fell and landed on my knee… fast forward 12 hours the Gin had worn off and I thought a trip to A&E was needed as I could no longer walk. Turns out I have broken my knee cap. Excellent. The timing could not be any worse, just as I'm about to pack the rest of the studio, clean and decorate it, I can't walk or drive!!!!! Nightmare! The one saving grace is that today was Minnie's sports day and I couldn't take part in the running race (thank god as I would def have been last by a country mile).

These things are sent to test us I guess, but I will defiantly not be wearing 6 inch heels ever again, I'm blaming those instead of the Gin!! Anyway, back to news on Prestwich, I am still in panic mode, as when we started to pack last week I don't think any of us realised how much stuff I had accumulated, turns out I'm a bit of a craft hoarder without even realising… so it's taking much much longer than we thought. I haven't had chance to feel sad as yet as I'm still running around like a headless chicken, I think when I lock the door for the last time I will take a moment to be sad.

In other news, I'll be adding lots of new and exciting events for all ages at our Manchester studio so please look out for them. Some other super fabulous news is that we have been voted in the top 10 UK pottery blogs in the UK (I'm amazed given that most of my blogs are full of the drama that surrounds my chaotic life rather than actual pottery, but hey ho I'm not arguing!).

Right I'm off to find a man with a van...
